On 23 April 2026, the final of Hack the FICT 2026, a hackathon dedicated to the development of IoT solutions, took place at Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University.

The event brought together teams from Zhytomyr Polytechnic, the Scientific Lyceum of Zhytomyr Polytechnic, as well as guest teams from Khmelnytskyi National University and TGI Academy from Irpin.

The hackathon was organised by the Innovation Hub of Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University in partnership with the Faculty of Information and Computer Technologies, with the Center for Conversion and Professional Adaptation (CCPA) acting as a co-organising partner. The event was held with the support of BGV Group Management, founded by Hennadii Butkevych.

For three weeks, teams worked together with mentors to create their own prototypes, test technical solutions and prepare final presentations. The programme concluded with a Demo Day, where participants presented their projects in the format of short pitches and demonstrated working prototypes.

Oksana Oliinyk, Acting Rector of Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University, welcomed the finalists and emphasised the value of hackathons as a space for youth innovation:

“Hackathons are a unique opportunity to bring active young people together into one community. We are pleased to see teams from different regions, because real progress emerges through this exchange of experience. May this energy help you scale your projects further.”

Mykhailo Psiuk, Head of the Science Park, highlighted the practical value of such events for early-stage technology development:

“Meetings like this are the best way to feel the real rhythm of technological development. You have seen the potential of your ideas through interaction with others, and this is the most valuable experience one can gain at the start of a career.”

This year’s hackathon became the result of joint work between the university, partners and friends who systematically support the development of engineering initiatives.

The Uniot team joined the hackathon as mentors and experts, supporting participants throughout the entire development process. Uniot also provided prizes for the teams. This was not the first joint project with Uniot, and it represents an important part of long-term cooperation around embedded systems, IoT and youth engineering education.

NDA Recruitment also supported the teams by providing prizes that will help participants continue developing their projects after the hackathon.

The Demo Day was organised by the Innovation Hub of Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University within the activities of Win-Win EDIH Ukraine.

CCPA congratulates all finalists and winners of Hack the FICT 2026. The next stage is where these prototypes can grow into more complete technological products. For CCPA, participation in such initiatives reflects its broader commitment to supporting youth innovation, engineering education and practical formats that help young teams move from technical ideas to real working solutions.
