On 12 June 2021, an official delegation of the Embassy of Norway in Ukraine visited Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University. The visit took place on the occasion of the graduation ceremony for participants of the spring semester of the project “Norway–Ukraine. Professional Adaptation. Integration into the State System” (NUPASS).
The project was implemented at Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University together with the NGO “Center for Conversion and Professional Adaptation” (CCPA).
The graduation ceremony was attended by Alexandra Vatsko, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Norway in Ukraine; Kerstin Agneta Wahlberg, Counsellor for Cooperation and Development; Volodymyr Rubtsov, Head of the International Foundation for Social Adaptation; Volodymyr Fedorenko, Head of Zhytomyr Regional Council; and Yurii Okhanskyi, Deputy Head of Zhytomyr Regional State Administration.
In the university conference hall, Rector Viktor Yevdokymov presented the university’s policy on developing a system of educational support and testing a sustainable model of social and professional adaptation for military personnel, war veterans, ATO/JFO participants, members of their families and families of fallen service members.
The guests also visited the Interactive Museum of Science and Technology “Polytechnic,” where a photo exhibition titled “NORWAY–UKRAINE” was presented. The exhibition was created by Ivan Kankin, a graduate of the project, ATO participant, professional photographer and Candidate of Technical Sciences. The photo project was inspired by Scandinavian motifs, with teachers and project participants acting as photo models.
The visit continued with a ceremonial event in the university assembly hall. The programme included welcoming speeches from guests, as well as artistic performances by bandura player and vocalist Svitlana Nikonorova, the student vocal ensemble “Akord,” and the Zhytomyr sports ballroom dance ensemble “Rytm.”
The central part of the ceremony was the awarding of documents to the project participants. Graduates received diplomas confirming their participation in the “Norway–Ukraine. Professional Adaptation. Integration into the State System” (NUPASS) programme during February–May 2021, issued with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway and the Ministry of Defence of Norway.
Participants also received certificates from Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University confirming completion of the training programme “Organisation of One’s Own Business,” implemented with the support of NORD University Business School in Norway and the financial support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway.
In addition, graduates received professional development certificates from Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University for a training programme with a total workload of 500 hours.
CCPA congratulates all graduates on completing the project and wishes them success in implementing their final business projects and launching their own entrepreneurial initiatives.
CCPA also expresses sincere gratitude to all partners whose support made it possible to implement the NUPASS project at Zhytomyr Polytechnic. The project remains an important platform for professional readaptation, entrepreneurship education and the creation of new opportunities for veterans, service members and their families.
We wish all participants continued success, productive cooperation, peace and clear skies.
